Kelso is a city of 12,000 people and county seat of Cowlitz County, Washington. It is located in the southwestern part of the state at the confluence of the Cowlitz, Coweeman, and Columbia Rivers. It shares its western border with Longview, the county’s largest city. These two cities have suburban, developed town centers, but their outlying areas remain rural.
