Port Angeles is the largest city and county seat of Clallam County in northwestern Washington, and is the location of the ferry to Victoria, British Columbia just across the Strait of Juan de Fuca. It is protected from violent swells of the water by a natural peninsula called Ediz Hook, a three mile long sand bar which creates a deepwater harbor in front of the city.
Despite being the area’s largest city, Port Angeles is somewhat remote and rural; homes for sale here are older than the average age of homes in Clallam County and Washington. It is commonly visited by Olympic National Park goers, however, as it is the closest city to Hurricane Ridge, the most visited mountain section of the park, and is the location of the park’s Visitor Center.
